About Us

How Anima Youth Started

Anima Youth was set up in 2014.  Between 2014-2018, Anima's Youth ran as an unincorporated charitable organisation, running projects which solely supported girls and young women.

However, in 2019 the organisation formally constituted into a Community Interest Company (Social Enterprise) and widened its support to cover both girls and boys, as the number of young men needing support, especially within mental health and career guidance had soared due to the knife crime epidemic.

Though as an organisation, we maintain our specialism in issues faced by young women and supporting young women, with our core organisational project the BeingHer programme, the organisation now additionally runs projects supporting Mental Health and Career Guidance for all young people.
